Kaizer Chiefs head coach to land at the airport tomorrow?

Nasreddine Nabi‘s situation has demanded extended patience from Kaizer Chiefs management and followers. Is the Tunisian finally arriving tomorrow?

INCOMING KAIZER CHIEFS HEAD COACH PLAYING HIS FINAL MATCH WITH AS FAR

In case you have been absent from the world, Amakhosi have chosen the Tunisian Nasreddine Nabi as the head coach for next season. The 58-year-old impressed Kaizer Chiefs with two league titles in Tanzania with Young Africans between 2021 and 2023. Nabi later went to Morocco to coach AS FAR where he lost the league title with one point on the final day of the season.

So why has he not arrived in Mzansi yet? Nabi is playing his final game with AS FAR in the Moroccan Throne Cup this evening.

With pre-season training already started for most local teams in the DStv Premiership, Nabi is expected to fly to Mzansi as soon as possible. So a flight out of Morocco this evening? Yes, good idea. The DStv Premiership is starting in under a month for Kaizer Chiefs.

FAROUK KHAN PLEADS FOR PATIENCE

In the meantime, for Amakhosi assistant coach Farouk Khan has sent an important message to the Kaizer Chiefs faithful. Khan has asked the fanbase not to expect immidiate success.

“These are highly-rated coaches that are coming in. They’ve got a lot of experience and they will find a way to make sure Chiefs is successful,” Khan told FARPost.

“I understand fans are frustrated, the management is frustrated and the players are frustrated as well. The supporters should support the coaches while they try to settle in. Remember, this is a completely different environment for them, but we’re talking about experienced coaches.

“Chiefs is a big brand, that’s what attracted them [new coaches] to joining the team. At Chiefs there is no time to say, ‘we’re building’, results should start coming as soon as possible.

“I’m sure the management will back the coach with buying the players he wants to fit his system and style of play. But to Chiefs supporters, they should let the coaches settle in without putting too much pressure on them,” Khan added.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

“As the management team, we are resolute in our determination to rectify the situation and ensure we turn things around in the new season. We have thoroughly reviewed the season and have begun making appropriate changes as we get underway with preparations for the new season,” Kaizer Chiefs stated.

“Members of management and the technical team will be working tirelessly over the next few weeks to ensure that the team hits the ground running when the 2024/25 season begins at the start of August. The Club will communicate further changes to the personnel as they happen.

“Lastly, as we plan to start another season, the Club will soon announce the new coach and his technical team, which will be tasked with guiding the team back to winning ways as we approach our 55-year anniversary in the next season.

“These changes, and other developments, will be communicated in due course on our various platforms – including the Club’s website and official social media apps – as and when they unfold, to keep our supporters abreast of the progression,” Kaizer Chiefs added.
