Sabrina Carpenter’s secret to her dreamy, doll-like makeup look revealed
The it-girl of pop music, Sabrina Carpenter, has captivated audiences with her catchy tunes, hilarious wit and dreamy makeup routine.
Carpenter has shared tips on how to achieve her much sought after makeup look on Tik Tok and Instagram in the past. She also took part in get-ready-with-me videos for Vanity Fair and Vogue. She credits her go-to makeup artist Carolina Gonzales with creating her signature doll-like makeup look.
Gonzales shared some insight with beauty website, Byrdie, about how she created the look that is now synonymous with the pop star.
The secret to the glowy and fresh-faced look starts before any actual makeup products touch her face. Gonzales recommends prepping the skin with 111Skin's Black Diamond Cream, Obal Oil, and Heritage Store's Rosewater Spray.
She then uses an assortment of Armani products for the base, including Luminous Silk Foundation, Luminous Silk Concealer and the sheer Silk Glow Liquid Bronzer. Gonzales said the foundation has ‘buildable’ coverage and she taps it out with a sponge to give her skin a more realistic ‘skin-like’ texture.
"Very important for me, everything has to be super blended," Gonzales said. "When you can't blend anymore, blend some more. Trust me, you could always blend more."
Perhaps the most asked question is how Gonzales achieves the pop of pink on Carpenter’s cheeks that seems to always look fresh whether she's performing on stage or shooting for her Skims campaign. The signature color is achieved using the Armani Luminous Silk Cheek Tints in the shades Bold Pink and Delicate Mauve, followed by Armani's Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer in the pearly pink shade 8.
"I don't go in the apple of the cheek; mid-cheek outward is what we do,” Gonzales said. “And a little under the outer edge of the eye and kind of up to the temple."
Gonzales also explained that she keeps focus on Carpenter’s baby blue eyes using softening techniques like feathering her brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Wax and a smudged, winged eyeliner.
