Georgia QB Carson Beck talks 'hunting' with Bulldogs, MPA experience

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is projected to be one of the best, if not the very best, signal-caller in the country heading into the 2024 season. And his Bulldogs are equally expected to be the nation's best squad.

Several look at Georgia as being the hunted as it looks to land yet another national title. Beck doesn't share that view looking into the upcoming schedule, which was something he made clear at the Manning Passing Academy in June.

"(Kirby) Smart says this too, but we don't get hunted. We do the hunting, no matter what. Even if we're at one, if we're at ten, whatever the ranking is, we are always doing the hunting."

But regardless of where Beck stands, there's no case that he will be the "it" quarterback for teams to outperform in 2024 after he beyond just made the most of his first year as the starter, finishing out the season with over a 72% completion rate, passing for 3,941 yards with a 24-to-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio. His mobility and improvisation ability was on display as well as he rushed for for 116 yards and 4 touchdowns.

In addition to making a good impression on the field, Beck also made a strong impression upon his colleagues at the Manning Passing Academy, something he takes pride in having participated in.

"Building a relationship and a connection with these other college quarterbacks. I've met a couple of them before, but to really get to know them an then obviously just to have a fun time, have a fun time coaching. Usually, I'm the one practicing. Being on the opposite end and getting to coach some of these kids, just having a fun time, I think that's what I'm trying to get out of it."

How things play out for Beck and the Bulldogs will be something watch as they open the season against the Clemson Tigers on Aug. 31.
