‘Kaizer Chiefs will try sign the players Nasreddine Nabi wants’

Kaizer Chiefs are expected to announce the appointment of Nasreddine Nabi as their new coach soon.

Nabi will be on his way to join up with Chiefs, straight after AS FAR’s final against Raja Athletic Club.

Nabi set to arrive at Chiefs

The Throne Cup final has been the only thing standing between Nabi and Chiefs beginning their partnership. The club sent officials to Rabat last month, in an effort to convince the Tunisian to take charge of the team’s project. All parties then agreed terms and the move was agreed in principle.

Straight after that, Chiefs started appointing members of the backroom staff Nabi had recommended to them. The first to arrive was assistant coach Fernando Da Cruz, who was followed by goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi. It is expected that the duo will handover the reins to the AS FAR man upon arrival. That in itself displays a level of faith and trust from the club.

Now according to Soccer-Laduma, that level of trust is set to extend beyond the coaching staff recommendations. Chiefs are looking to back Nabi with any player recommendations he may have as well!

Will get transfer backing

“If Nabi fails at Chiefs, it will be because he wants to fail. Nabi brought everybody he feels that can help him to succeed. Football is all about trust, and when you are in the game you need to surround yourself with people that you can trust. Even with players, if he makes recommendations, Kaizer Chiefs will go out to try and get those players because they want him to succeed,” said the source.

One would imagine that Chiefs will already have their club targets that they believe can be of use to Nabi. He may well then doing his own research on the local game and have his own names. Furthermore, he may want to bring some players who have worked under him at Yanga SC and AS FAR.
