Klay Thompson Hurt by Warriors?
Pride has a tendency to get in the way of life, and disputes over money can destroy families. Unfortunately, for the Golden State Warriors, both seem to have led to the imminent breakup between the storied franchise and Klay Thompson. Contract negotiations seemingly destroyed the relationship between the two parties, as Thompson is vehemently upset about the lack of a deal from last summer.
ESPN's Kendra Andrews revealed the disgruntled free agent's sentiment: "Klay wants to feel respected, appreciated, and valued."

Despite the lack of a current deal between the two parties, the Warriors made an effort last summer. Mike Dunleavy Jr. offered Thompon a two-year, $48 million extension.
Steve Kerr attempted to bend and manipulate the lineup so that Thompson could rise above his "struggling" season. Despite the four-time NBA champion averaging the fewest points since his junior season, he converted a career-high 91 percent from the free-throw line and managed an above-league-average 38 percent from the three-point line.
After years of paying Thomspon at a premium level despite suffering consecutive season-ending injuries, the cost of doing business is showing its ugly head. Although the Warriors sacrificed to pay Thompson for his outstanding years of service, the other half of the Splash Brothers isn't satisfied. Perhaps nothing the Warriors can offer will suffice for the pride lost in contract negotiations.
While hurt feelings play a role in the eventual departure, nostalgia helps numb the pain of losing a loved one. Fans and the franchise alike can remember the great times and championships earned thanks to the otherworldly performances from Thompson.
