England hero Marc Guehi completed the euphoric win over Slovakia with a painful shoulder injury that required an injection at half-time.
The Crystal Palace defender suffered the problem in the first half, with the issue causing him immense pain as he received lengthy treatment on the field.
But Guehi was determined to see the game out and the centre-back underwent further treatment at half-time, that included a jab, and he managed to complete the full 120 minutes despite being in major discomfort.
Guehi picked up his second booking of the tournament against Slovakia after trying to compensate for Kieran Trippier’s under hit pass meaning he is suspended for the quarter final against Switzerland on Saturday.
In trying to make amends for the pass, Guehi twisted his shoulder in a collision with Slovakia forward David Strelec.

The injury would have made Guehi a doubt for this weekend’s clash, but there is hope he will be fit enough to return for a potential semi-final next week.
The race is now on to replace Guehi in the team for the quarters with Ezri Konsa, Lewis Dunk and Joe Gomez among the contenders to replace the Eagles star.
