A former Kaizer Chiefs star seems to be wasting no time in getting a fresh start after leaving Naturena.

Chiefly Keagan Dolly was part of five players who Chiefs announced to be surplus to requirements at the club.

Alongside Dolly, Chiefs confirmed their decision to part ways with Sifiso Hlanti, Siyethemba Sithebe, Njabulo Ngcobo and Jasond Gonzalez. Even before the former Bafana Bafana winger’s departure was announced, there were rumours of potential suitors circling for him. The likes of Cape Town City and AmaZulu were mentioned early. But from last week, SuperSport United entered the race and did so rigorously.

Now according to Soccer-Laduma, however, Dolly may already be at SuperSport, fresh from getting his clearance from Chiefs.

“Now, the latest regarding Dolly is that he has been spotted at SuperSport’s Megawatt Park base in Sunninghill, Johannesburg. Siya sources have informed the crew that Dolly’s presence at the club added fuel to speculation that he could be set to put pen to paper with Matsatsantsa. Should he sign with the club, he would follow in the footsteps of the likes of Morgan Gould, Tefu Mashamaite and Reneilwe Letsholonyane, among others, all of whom went on to enjoy fruitful careers at SuperSport. Dolly will be hoping to return to his dazzling best after struggling to shake off niggling injuries that saw him make just eight appearances for Chiefs in the 2023/24 season.” Wrote the publication.

Looks like SuperSport are moving quickly to eliminate the competition to a player of Dolly’s calibre. In the periods has available for Chiefs, his numbers make for decent reading. He scored 14 goals with 11 assists in 67 games for Amakhosi over his three-season stay at Naturena. He will now be looking to stay fit in order to impress and maximise his time when he finds a new club.
