Matt Rhule Drops Bold Take On Colorado's Shedeur Sanders
Shedeur Sanders has become one of the most polarizing figures in college football. Fans seem to either love or hate the talented quarterback.
Sanders is preparing for his second year at Colorado. In his previous season, he threw for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 69.3% of his passes. His outstanding performance has positioned Sanders as one of the top quarterbacks in the country as he heads into the 2024 season.
It also earned him a glowing review from Nebraska Cornhuskers coach Matt Rhule on The Joel Klatt Show podcast. Rhule stated that Sanders is one of the best football players he's ever coached against.
"The thing we always have to remember when we talk about Colorado is how great Shedeur is," Rhule said. "He is one of the best football players I've ever coached against. We blitzed him, and I think we sacked him like 10 times, and we hit him a ton. He stood in there, and I know everyone sees Shedeur on commercials, and they see the swagger that he plays with, but he's an unbelievable competitor."

Sanders' outstanding play has some believe he can lead Colorado from a 4-8 season to the Big 12 championship and a College Football Playoff berth this season.
As for the Buffaloes and Cornhuskers, the former Big 12 North foes are scheduled to play again on Sept. 7, 2024. Colorado won the first matchup last year with a score of 36-14 in Boulder, CO. However, the upcoming game will take place in Lincoln, Neb. Rhule emphasized the difficulty of winning this game, highlighting the talent of Sanders and Travis Hunter.
