Shark Tank's Namita Thapar to make 293x on her Emcure Pharma exit
Namita Thapar is poised to earn 293 times her initial investment after partially offloading her stake in Emcure Pharmaceuticals, according to the company's red herring prospectus.
At the upper end of the price band, Thapar will achieve a 293-fold return. The price band for Emcure Pharmaceuticals is set at Rs 960 - Rs 1008 per share.
Thapar holds 6,339,800 Emcure shares, representing a 3.5 percent stake in the company. The weighted average cost of acquisition for her shares is Rs 3.44, bringing her total investment in the company to Rs 2.18 crore. She will sell 1,268,600 Emcure shares in the offer-for-sale (OFS).
Other promoter, Satish Ramanlal Mehta, who owns 75,816,748 equity shares (or a 41.85 percent stake in the company), will also participate in the OFS, offering up to 4,20,000 equity shares. On the upper-end of the price band, Mehta will make 52 times his original investment.
BC Investments IV will mint a profit of 3.63 times.
Additionally, Pushpa Rajnikant Mehta, Bhavana Satish Mehta, Kamini Sunil Mehta, Arunkumar Purshotamlal Khanna, Berjis Minoo Desai, and Sonali Sanjay Mehta will offload shares in the OFS.
The IPO will comprise a mix of fresh equity issuance worth Rs 800 crore and an offer-for-sale of 1.14 crore equity shares by existing shareholders, including the promoters.
