Wednesday's Emma Myers says season two will 'live up to' expectations in fresh update

Netflix's Wednesday star Emma Myers has given fans the lowdown on its eagerly-anticipated next chapter.

The hit show stars Jenna Ortega in the titular role of Wednesday Addams, a girl with psychic abilities who tries to crack a murder mystery at her peculiar new school for outcasts. She rooms with Enid Sinclair, portrayed by Emma Myers, a vibrant werewolf keen on making friends.

The legendary Tim Burton, serving as executive producer, helmed four episodes of the first season, which premiered in November 2022. The follow-up season is currently underway and is expected to hit screens in 2025, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Emma Myers, who brings Enid to life, hinted that the sequel will be 'worth the long wait. ' Chatting with Digital Spy, she commented: "It's good, because people have high expectations of it. And honestly this season is gonna live up to it."

She continued: "I really enjoyed the scripts this season. I think there's a lot of fun things to look forward to, so yeah, I think it will be worth the long wait."

Wednesday's debut season quickly became Netflix's second-most-watched English language series within just three weeks of its release last year. Jenna Ortega's portrayal won critical acclaim, leading to four Emmy nods and two Golden Globe nominations.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzman are set to reprise their roles as Wednesday's parents Morticia and Gomez, while Isaac Ordonez returns as Wednesday's brother Pugsley. Some new faces will also be joining the cast, including Doctor Who's Billie Piper, Fool Me Once's Joanna Lumley and original Addams Family star Christopher Lloyd.

Emma, meanwhile, is currently starring in BBC series A Good Girl's Guide To Murder, which released to iPlayer today (Monday July 1). An adaptation of Holly Jackson's best-selling trilogy of the same name, Emma stars as teenager Pip Fitz-Amobi, a teenager who is determined the solve a murder-suicide case that shook her quaint village five years earlier.

The six-episode series will also air on BBC Three later this month. It then drops on Netflix for the rest of the world to enjoy on August 1
