McDonald's in major menu shakeup with 3 new items and some returning favourites
McDonald's has announced a major shakeup to its menu to celebrate its 50th UK birthday.
As part of its birthday celebrations, the global fast food chain will launch a total of seven new items over the coming weeks as well as bring back a few old favourites too. The new and returning items will be added to menus across the UK and Ireland from July 17.
Among the range is the brand new Birthday Cake Donut, which is filled with strawberry-flavoured filling and topped with buttercream-flavoured icing and sprinkles. The sweet treat will cost £1.99 and 20p from each sale will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK - which is also celebrating its 35th birthday this year.
Alongside this, McDonald's will so be launching a Milkybar Raspberry Ripple McFlurry and Munchies Cookie Dough McFlurry. The first will feature soft dairy ice cream swirled with mini Milkybar chocolate drops and topped with raspberry sauce the latter will consist of ice cream swirled with chocolate-coated Munchies biscuit pieces and topped with a caramel cookie dough sauce. Both treats will set you back £2.19 with the mini version costing £1.59.
Another new edition - for those who prefer something a little saltier - is the Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers. The dish will feature four mozzarella dippers flavoured with garlic and chives in a ciabatta-style breadcrumb coating, served with tomato dip. The menu item will set you back £2.39 or £6.49 for the sharebox.

Burger fans can get the burger on its own for £5.59 or £7.49 as part of a meal.
After launching earlier this year, McDonald's also confirmed that its Chicken Sharebox will be staying on the menu. The £10.59 boxes include six Chicken Selects, twelve Chicken McNuggets, two McNuggets dips and two Selects dips. The nine Chicken Selects Sharebox with three Selects Dips will also be remaining costing you £8.49. The menu items won't be around for long so if you want to try them you'll need to be quick.
