Is there a fix for the Browns new rival? Said Schlereth on NFL Live: “If he can’t get it done in this offense, he might as well go ahead and retire and get a tee time with me, (Dan) Orlovsky and (Dan) Graziano," he said. "I love (new coordinator) Arthur Smith being there. If anybody is gonna get the best out of either Justin Fields or Russell Wilson, I feel like it's Arthur Smith.''
JUNE 30 PAY THE MAN! Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper's contract holdout has the endorsement of Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay of the Eagles ...
But for one problem. And it's a common one.
During an appearance on The Green Light With Chris Long podcast, Slay said Cooper, a six-time Pro Bowler, is "the most underappreciated receiver in the league," Slay said.
And then, the punchline ...
"I'm seeing right now that Cleveland don't want to pay him," Slay said. "They need to pay that man that money."
Good call. Sure. Do it. "Pay the man that money.''
But ... what money?
Cooper is 30 and has a bit of an injury-prone rep. But he is coming off of a fine 2023 campaign in which he contributed 72 receptions for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns. He presently makes $20 million as part of the five-year, $100 million extension that he signed back in 2020 when he still a member of the Dallas Cowboys.
So "pay the man'' ... what? How much?
We often see this three-word phrase tossed out there by people who fail to realize ... the devil is in the details.
