Meghan Markle ‘ordered Prince Harry to ignore’ David Beckham
A new book claims that Meghan Markle had “ordered” her husband, Prince Harry to ignore former soccer star David Beckham at the 2018 Invictus Games event.

A new book alleges that the tension between Prince Harry and David Beckham links to Meghan Markle. The book titled The House of Beckham: Money, Sex and Power, by Tom Bower, claims that Prince Harry was ordered to ignore Beckham by his wife, Meghan Markle, during the 2018 Invictus Games event.
David, and his wife Victoria Beckham were once very close to both Prince Harry and his older brother, future King, Prince William. While the Beckhams bond with Prince William remains strong, their relationship with Prince Harry is reportedly strained. According to the book, six months after the royal wedding, the relationship between Harry and David took a ’”brutal” turn, reported by Hindustan Times.
Bower claimed that David felt isolated and unable to go near Prince Harry during the Invictus Games event organised by the royals in Sydney, Australia in October that year. This incident made him realise that something was wrong, as he was purportedly distanced himself from the Duke of Sussex.
“Arriving on the agreed day to meet Prince Harry he was perplexed [as to] why officials were playing a dance to keep him happy, but away from Harry. Beckham found himself alone at the Invictus Games stadium,” wrote Bower.
DAVID BECKHAM FELT ‘DISRESPECTED’
The former football star reportedly inquired about why he couldn’t spend time with Prince Harry and later found out that the the prince had clearly stated that the footballer was not to be allowed close to him in any way.” This reportedly led to him feeling “disrespected”.
The book also claims that Beckham later learnt the exclusion was due to Meghan.
“The exclusion order, it later transpired, was issued by Meghan,” wrote Bower. The reason for this was reportedly because: “She did not want any competition in the media from Beckham, and especially not from his wife Victoria.”
Fpur years after the alleged snub, The Beckhams reportedly took an “act of revenge” and crossed continents to attend a prestigious event in Boston to celebrate Prince William and Kate Middleton. This was during the same time as Prince Harry and Meghan were participating in a event in New York. Bower suggests that the Boston event took the limelight away from Prince Harry and Meghan.
“Beckham had got his revenge for the Sydney snub,” wrote Bower.
