Long-Awaited Minecraft Item is Finally Coming to The Game

Mojang has revealed that bundles are coming to Minecraft soon, with the latest "Minecraft Monthly" YouTube video giving fans a glimpse at some features they can expect to see added to the game in beta and preview versions. While quite a few popular concepts and features for Minecraft ultimately ended up being cut from the various updates the game has seen over the past several years, one constantly delayed feature has been a particularly popular one among the game's community.

It's no secret that many of the features initially teased to arrive with releases such as The Wild Update and the Caves and Cliffs updates never made it into the game, with such cut content resulting in a significant amount of backlash from fans over the past couple of years in particular. While Mojang's development process has ultimately seen certain potential additions - such as fireflies - seemingly dropped forever for one reason or another, a good deal of features promised for updates years ago have slowly been finding their way into the game in more recent times. Minecraft's archeology feature represents one such example, which was added to the game in 2023's Trail and Tales update after initially being planned for the Caves and Cliffs update three years prior.

Another long-delayed feature has been confirmed to be coming to Minecraft in an official capacity soon though, with this month's "Minecraft Monthly" video on the game's official YouTube channel revealing that bundles will be available for players to try out in upcoming preview and beta versions for the two main versions of the game. First revealed to the Minecraft community during Minecraft Live 2020, bundles allow players to expand and better manage their inventories on the fly. This Minecraft Monthly episode gives fans a glimpse at how these items will behave in-game, though the footage shared is subject to change in future versions of the game.

Minecraft Feature Preview Reveals Bundles Coming Soon

Though bundles have been available to players through commands as an experimental feature in Minecraft: Java Edition exclusively for some time now, it seems like their introduction into the game as an official feature isn't too far off. After it was announced that bundles ultimately wouldn't make an appearance in the Caves and Cliffs updates, the game's development team shared that they still intended to implement bundles at some point after The Wild Update.

It's not clear exactly how many potential features and concepts Mojang currently has shelved, but the Minecraft developer's long-term development philosophy has given fans hope that some of their most requested features might yet see the light of day. Some in the community have discussed the possibility that some of Minecraft's many mob vote losers may also end up being added to the game at some point down the line in a similar fashion.
