Much-loved teacher dies after falling through roof at school
Very sadly this evening we can confirm that the teacher at the centre of this horrific accident is Paul Hogan, a former principal and a much loved relief teacher here at Saint Margaret Mary's Primary School. The 61 year old was involved in a freak accident at the school last Thursday. He was helping retrieve balls from the roof of one of the buildings here when he fell through a skylight, dropping more than three metres to the ground. He was taken to hospital with critical head injuries but sadly he died the following day. Tributes have been pouring in for the much loved teacher who devoted his life to Catholic education with a career spanning 36 years. We'll read one of those tributes now. It says we extend our sincere condolences to Paul's family, friends and colleagues and we hold all of those impacted in our hearts and prayers. Paul was a friend and a mentor to many in our community and he will be dearly missed. Tom, Alicia. Lots of devastated people out there tonight hearing this news about Mr. Hogan this afternoon. Work Safe did confirm that it will be investigating the incident. OK, Amber, thank you.
