McDonald’s is launching 50th birthday menu in UK and bringing back iconic burgers

McDonald’s is getting a head start on its birthday celebrations in the UK by launching a special limited-edition menu this July.

The fast food chain, which will have been in the UK for 50 year this October, has unveiled several new products and announced the return of some iconic burgers.

Customers will be able to get their hands on three new desserts, including a Milkybar Raspberry Ripple McFlurry, a Munchies Cookie Dough McFlurry, and a Birthday Cake Donut from July 17.

The colourful ring donut will feature a strawberry filling, topped with buttercream-flavoured icing, and sprinkles. While the Milkybar McFlurry is made up of soft ice cream, mini Milkybar chocolate drops and a sweet and sharp raspberry sauce.

Similarly, the new Munchies one consists of ice cream, chocolate-coated Munchies biscuit pieces, and caramel cookie dough sauce.

For those who prefer something savoury, we’ve got good news as the epic Double Big Mac is back, as is the Double Big Mac with bacon. Yep, your favourite burger just got even bigger.

Also making its first re-appearance on the line-up since October 2023 is the McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse.

This chicken burger sees crispy coated chicken topped with a smoky BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, red onion, and lettuce, all in a sourdough style sesame topped bun.

But the fun doesn’t stop there, as McDonald’s is also launching brand new Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers.

These can be ordered as a side or a sharebox and is a twist on the classic mozzarella dippers. These cheesy mozzarella bites are flavoured with garlic and chives and coated in a ciabatta-style breadcrumb coating.  They’re served with a rich tomato dip.

And last but not least, the chicken sharebox will be staying on the menu this summer, so you can still get your fix of Chicken Selects, Chicken Nuggets, and a whole host of dips.

There is one downside to this menu switch up though, which is that some of the current items will be disappearing.

The Hat Trick burger, a triple stack with two slices of cheese, grilled onions, mustard, and ketchup in a glazed sesame seed bun, will be leaving the menu, as will the Skittles McFlurry, and the Galaxy Chocolate and Raspberry Pie.

The Galaxy Caramel McFlurry is also set to go, as it’s replaced by the new flavours.

If you want to get your hands on any of these, you’ll have to be quick as your last chance to enjoy them will be July 16.

This comes after McDonald’s recently launched an American favourite in the UK — which is still available.

The Oreo Frappe launched on June 26, which is an icy dirnk with a vanilla base, blended with ice and Oreo pieces, and toppped with cream and more Oreo pieces.

The sweet treat will set you back £3.09 for a regular and £3.39 for a large, and will be available until September 3.
