Estate agent's 'charming' £125,000 three-bedroom house has a terrible dark secret

Described as being a 'delightful' three-bedroom property 'nestled in a popular and convenient location', this listing seems to be an ideal purchase for a prospective buyer.

Located in Heol Cadifor, Swansea, Wales, the semi-detached home was put on sale by Purplebricks Estate Agents for £125,000 and advertised on Rightmove yesterday.

The property description boasts how it is offered with no chain, meaning buyers can 'seize the opportunity to secure your dream home'.

But, while the Purplebricks listing includes 13 unremarkable photographs of the property, picture 14 displays disturbing graffiti sprayed across the front of the house.

Written in blue spray paint on the front walls and door frame - the words 'paedo' and 'nonce' can be spotted on what was once the former home of a convicted sex offender.

Far from being a 'cozy retreat for relaxation or gatherings', this home used to harbour vile paedophile Tommy Allington who was jailed for 24 years after admitting filming himself sexually abusing a baby and sharing the images with other paedophiles.

Swansea Crown Court heard how the 25-year-old primary school assistant subjected an infant to a sustained campaign of sexual abuse, assaulting and raping the child.

The horrendous ordeal only came to light after police received intelligence of indecent images on Instagram and found a secret phone hidden in the attic of his house. Allington had downloaded more than 1,500 images of children being sexually abused.

Allington was bailed to the house in Penlan, Swansea, which locals say still belongs to his grandmother.

Allington's grandmother was driven out after an angry 'lynch mob' turned up to protest that a paedophile was living in the community.

Two hooded men later graffitied the front of the semi-detached property with nonce and paedo, which they spelled wrongly. They even daubed the front doorstep of the house which has laid empty for over a year.

The house has become an eyesore but also an attraction with ghouls arriving to see where the evil sex offender lived.

Neighbours were staggered that the £125,0000 property was put up for sale still showing the graffiti.

Cath Arnold, 63, who lives opposite, said: 'What are they thinking - surely they realise that's going to put prospective buyers off.

'I've had to put up with it for over a year - I'm sick of looking at it. If I had my health I'd go over there and paint over it myself.'

Mother-of-three Mrs Arnold, disabled from a brain haemorrhage, said paedophile Allington moved into the street because he had relatives living there.

More than 100 angry locals surrounded the house after he was arrested and bailed to the house where young children were living nearby.

Mrs Arnold said: 'People were singing "get out you paedo" to a pop song they adopted. There was a lynch mob and the police were called - the whole community wanted him out of here.

'They moved him and then he was sent to prison for a very long time. His crimes against children were dreadful.

'We used to get cars pulling up outside with people looking at the graffiti and taking photographs.

'It's there as a reminder of what he did but it's time it was painted over and let's hope new people move in.'

Grandmother Mrs Arnold complained to Swansea Council's environmental health department but was told there was nothing they can do because the house is privately owned.

She added: 'I'm glad it's gone on the market but they're never going to sell it with those words daubed all over it.

'As far as I know it is still owned by the family of the convicted paedophile but they are long gone.

'The RSPCA had to be called after they cleared off because the place was full of cats and dogs. I've got one of their cats now.'

According to the Land Registry the property has been owned by Iris Cecilia Ellen Allington since December 2022.
