Yook Sung-jae Releases 1st Solo Single Album 'EXHIBITION: Look Closely'

SEOUL, May 9 (Yonhap) — Singer-actor Yook will release his first solo single album, ‘EXHIBITION: Look Closely,’ through various online music sites at 6 p.m. on the 9th, its agency said.

‘EXHIBITION: Look Closely’ is Yook Sung-jae’s official release as a solo artist after four years since his special album ‘YOOK O’clock’ in 2020. Inspired by an exhibition, this album conveys the message “Beauty lies in looking closely” and contains various stories he wishes to share through each track.

The title track, ‘BE SOMEBODY,’ is an emo indie-pop genre song with a trap-style beat, addictive guitar riffs, and powerful vocal melodies. It carries a hopeful message of finally finding one’s path after passing through dark nights, with Yook Sung-jae contributing to the lyrics to add authenticity.

In addition to ‘BE SOMEBODY,’ the album includes a total of three tracks, including ‘Without you,’ a cool song conveying a message of being unaffected by the breakup after discovering the other person’s false love, and ‘The Ghost,’ a ballad expressing the speaker’s longing to forget their loved one and become free but experiencing torment as they cannot.

Through this album, Yook Sung-jae plans to showcase not only his hidden charms that he couldn’t fully reveal during his group activities but also his new aspects that even longtime fans may not have known. ‘EXHIBITION: Look Closely’ is expected to provide a closer look at solo artist Yook Sung-jae.

Meanwhile, Yook Sung-jae’s first solo single album ‘EXHIBITION: Look Closely’ full audio tracks and the music video for the title track ‘BE SOMEBODY’ will be available for viewing from 6 p.m. on the 9th.
