Xbox Has Potential To Go On An Incredible 4-month Run Later This Year
- According to a recent report, Xbox could potentially release an impressive lineup of games in the last 4 months of 2024.
- Possible releases include Starfield DLC, Call of Duty, Avowed, Flight Simulator, and Indiana Jones.
- While release dates have not been officially confirmed by Microsoft, the last four months of 2024 are still shaping up to be a significant period for the Xbox brand.
A recent report suggests that the Xbox brand is going to cap off 2024 with an impressive string of releases, with fans potentially learning more at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, June 9 at 10am PT. Nearly every year in June, Xbox holds a special showcase where it shines a spotlight on its upcoming game releases. This includes games that are going to be released in the relatively near future, as well as titles that are a little further out.
As far as the Xbox Games Showcase in June goes, rumor has it that Xbox is going to use it to pull the curtain back on the long-awaited Gears of War 6. Gears of War 6 is unlikely to release in 2024, so fans shouldn’t hold their breath about that, but some of the other games at the event are indeed expected to be out for Xbox and potentially other consoles before the year is out.

More Evidence of Xbox Handheld Console Surfaces
As rumors surrounding Xbox’s potential handheld console continue, a source states that a recent act from Microsoft may add to the speculation.
According to a report by The Verge, Xbox is setting itself up to go on an incredible run from September through December. If all goes according to plan and there are no release date delays, it seems Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion will drop in September, with the 2024 Call of Duty game dropping in late October, followed by Avowed and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in November, and finally, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in December. However, it should be stressed that these release months are from The Verge and have not been officially announced by Microsoft at the time of this writing.
Xbox Games That Could Be Releasing in the Last 4 Months of 2024
Close
- Starfield: Shattered Space – September
- Call of Duty 2024 – October
- Avowed – November
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – November
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – December
These are realistic expectations. Bethesda previously confirmed that the Starfield DLC will be out in fall 2024, and a September release would see it drop around the game’s 1-year anniversary. Call of Duty, meanwhile, has launched in late October/early November every year for nearly two decades at this point, so it’s easy to believe that the same will hold true for the next entry in the long-running FPS franchise. Doubling up with Avowed and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 both in November seems like a somewhat odd move, but Xbox may be anticipating that the games appeal to very different demographics, and beyond that, November is typically one of the busiest months for major new releases.
Previous reports have already suggested Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released in December, and so this backs up those claims. Now, it’s entirely possible that some of these games could get pushed back, and so fans should keep that in mind. But even if one or two games get pushed back, it’s clear that the last four months of 2024 are going to be huge for the Xbox brand.
