An abandoned Edinburgh garage could become a shop under new plans.
The submission was made to Edinburgh Council for a new shop unit to be erected, with an apartment above it. The garage is no longer use, and is currently blocked off with railings.
It’s not currently included in the plans what type of shop it will be, though it has been said that it will be class one (non-food).

The proposal was summarised as: “Erect a class one shop unit with a class seven apartment above on the site of a former single lock up garage.”
The shop floor will include a small bathroom, with stairs leading up to apartment. This floor includes a kitchen/living room, one bedroom and a bathroom.

Images from Google Maps show the garage was once well kept, though has fallen into a derelict state since 2019. Neighbouring businesses include Dominos Pizza, Cash For Your Clothes, and Studio 10 hairdressers.
Across the road sits the Dhammapadipa Buddhist Temple. The 02 Academy and ASDA Supercentre are also nearby.
