In July 2017, we launched a Facebook group called Women Who Travel, aimed at being a space for all self-identifying women to share their travel stories, offer advice, and form a community of like-minded women. Today, we’re some 120,000 members strong—with a weekly podcast by the same name—and we’re hitting the road to bring our community together IRL. Welcome to the Women Who Travel meetup series!
Over the past year, members of our Women Who Travel community have come together at meetups in cities like New York, Miami, and Austin to share their love of travel and swap stories, tips, and ideas about exploring the world. In fact, our second-ever meetup took place in Chicago, almost one year ago. Now, we’re heading back to the Windy City on July 21 for a meetup and live podcast recording—with a twist.
This time, we’re teaming up with the women behind Pitchfork for a co-hosted event featuring Pitchfork Music Festival performers and French sister act, Ibeyi. The duo, who sing in English, French, Spanish, and Yoruba, travel the world over, both lyrically and IRL. Hosted at the
, the event will kick off with a live recording of the “Women Who Travel” podcast, featuring Lisa-Kaindé Diaz and Naomi Diaz of Ibeyi, followed by a social hour with editors from Condé Nast Traveler and Pitchfork. And, of course, all of you!
