An American woman has been charged after allegedly breaching hotel quarantine in Perth to go clubbing and shopping.
Police said the woman arrived in Perth on a flight from Cairns on July 16 and was ordered to self-quarantine for 14 days at a hotel.
But during multiple checks on the woman, officers allegedly discovered she was not at the hotel.
“On several occasions, (she) had visited a nightclub, a licensed cafe and had gone shopping within the Perth CBD,” police said in a statement on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old woman, who is a United States national, tested negative to Covid-19.
Police charged the woman with five counts of failing to comply with a direction.
She is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.
