Wolf Alice have made an appeal on Twitter after revealing that they are stuck in LA ahead of their coveted spot at Glastonbury Festival. The 2018 Mercury Prize-winning rock band from London are lined up to play on the iconic Pyramid Stage on Friday 24 June, from 4.45pm.

But the band’s Twitter account asked for help in the early hours of Thursday after their travel plans were disrupted at the last minute. The group have been playing a series of concerts in the US recently.

“Has anyone got a private jet in LA?” they tweeted. The request was followed by an explanation: “Our flight’s been cancelled and we need to get to Glastonbury not joking.”

Fans quickly shared the news on social media, appealing to LA-based famous faces to see if they could help the band. Singer Ellie Rowsell, guitarist Joff Oddie, bassist Theo Ellis and drummer Joel Amey released their third studio album Blue Weekend in June 2021, winning the Brit award for best British Group this year.

The band are currently supporting Harry Styles on the European leg of his tour, and have previously supported Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age. They last played on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage back in 2016, and opened the festival’s live stream event last year.

Glastonbury is expected to attract more than 200,000 festival-goers who have eagerly awaited its return after Covid-19 led to its cancellation in 2020 and 2021. Headliners this year include Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar, as well as North Shields star Sam Fender.
