wipro, infosys, other it firms revoke offers given to freshers after delaying onboarding process

New Delhi: IT majors including Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra are making headlines and this time it is not for good. After delaying their onboarding process for months, several such firms have reportedly revoked the offer letters of many freshers.

Hundreds of graduates had received offers from the tech giants but are now seeing their letters being rescinded after a delay of around 3-4 months in the onboarding process. While the students contend that they applied for jobs at the top tech companies around 3-4 months back and received the offer letters after rounds of interviews, according to BusinessLine report.

Revoked on grounds of eligibility criteria and company guidelines

They claim that the tech companies have revoked their offer letters on the grounds of eligibility criteria and company guidelines. “It has been identified that you are not meeting our academic eligibility criteria. Hence your offer stands null and void,” the publication noted.

A user of LinkedIn shared that Wipro is giving the reason, “We regret to inform you that we cannot take your candidature forward, as you have not been compliant to Wipro’s assessment guidelines.”

“Accenture is giving reasons that you have not been able to clear the verifications. hence the said offer will be withdrawn and your journey on this hiring opportunity would be concluded here,” the person wrote.

According to the post by Himanshu Kumar, Capgemini, while revoking the letters, is saying, “We would like to inform you that the Company has decided not to confirm your employment day with the Company shall be September 16, 2022 However, the Company reserves the by payment in lieu of the notice as agreed in the Employment Contract.”

Wipro statement

Regarding the recent cancelled hirings, Wipro issued a statement in which it said, “Wipro can confirm that it will honour all offer letters that have been made to deserving candidates, in a phased manner.” However, Infosys and Tech Mahindra are yet to speak on the matter.
