CBSE Class 10 Science exam analysis: Moderately easy and well balanced paper

The CBSE board exams 2023 are underway for both Classes 10 and 12. The CBSE Class 10 Science board exam 2024 was held today and, as per students, the paper was balanced and moderately easy. Not just teachers but students were also happy with the Science exam. Most students claimed to have completed the paper before time.Â

As per students and experts, the exam was easy and questions were based on the CBSE sample paper pattern.

The analysis by subject teachers indicates that the class 10 board exam science paper was moderately easy to average, with no questions outside the syllabus. Approximately 60-70 percent of the questions were directly from the textbook. Multiple-choice questions required conceptual knowledge, while case-based questions were rated as easy to moderate in difficulty.

CBSE Class 10 Science exam started at 10:30 am and continued till 1:30 pm.

This year around 21 lakh students are appearing for CBSE class 10 examination. The examination is conducted across the country at various exam centres.Â

CLASS 10 SCIENCE BOARD EXAM 2024: SECTION-WISE BREAKAGE

 The 80 mark theoretical paper comprised five sections and had to be attempted in three hours.

The question paper consists of 39 questions in 5 sections.

ii. All questions were compulsory. However, an internal choice is provided in some questions. A student is expected to attempt only one of these questions.

iii. Section A consists of 20 objective type questions carrying 1 mark each.

iv. Section B consists of 6 Very Short questions carrying 02 marks each. Answers to these questions should be in the range of 30 to 50 words.

v. Section C consists of 7 Short Answer type questions carrying 03 marks each. Answers to these questions should be in the range of 50 to 80 words.

vi. Section D consists of 3 Long Answer type questions carrying 05 marks each. Answer to these questions should be in the range of 80 to 120 words.

vii. Section E consists of 3 source-based/case-based units of assessment of 04 marks each with sub-parts.
