She had to lose weight for her role in World of the Married – and gained it back for My Name. Playing the role of Yeo Da-kyung in the suspenseful drama World of the Married last year, Han had to lose at least 2kg. On KStarLive, she shared how she trimmed down from her usual 47kg to 45kg.
But for her turn in My Name as the feisty Yoon Ji-woo, Han upped her weight by 10kg to gain muscle and achieve a more athletic build. It’s a far cry from the shy, girl-next-door image she portrayed as Yu Na-bi in Nevertheless.
She went to “action school” for My Name

For My Name, Han went to “action school” to learn martial arts and religiously trained to master her fight scenes. As reported by Koreaboo, Han revealed during a press conference for the drama that she attended action school and spent two months longer learning her skills than the other cast members. Wanting to get her moves just right, Han’s main concern was that of the safety of herself and her co-stars. Despite a number of dangerous and intense fight scenes, the cast of My Name performed 99 per cent of their stunts.

She’s a tough cookie in real life – and it shows in her dedication as an actress. As Han’s fame grew in tandem with World of the Married becoming the highest-rated Korean cable drama, she was forced to confront skeletons from her past as people started to dig into her family background, according to Koreaboo. She was criticised for her previous image, where old social media photos showed her baring tattoos and smoking, while gossip swirled around news of her mother being involved in money swindling, reported Soompi.

Han had to deal with plenty of backlash and hate – just as she was getting her big break.
The actress, though, remained unfazed and focused instead on the support she was receiving from fans, reported Koreaboo. She performed to the best of her ability in all the roles given to her, from World of the Married to Nevertheless – and now with My Name.
Her performances have received plenty of praise

She has consistently received praise from actors and directors for her performances. Veteran actress Kim Hee-ae, of World of the Married, is quoted saying via Soompi: “[Han] is very passionate and her skills as an actress are already fully developed. If she’s already this perfect, I wonder what kind of actress she’ll be in the future when she reaches my age. I can’t even imagine it.”
For Nevertheless, the art director noticed how truly immersed Han was in her role as art student Yu Na-bi – some of the actress’ own artwork was even included on the set of the drama.

My Name director Kim Jin-min also praised Han, according to Soompi, saying: “I asked her two things, ‘Do you want to do it?’ and ‘Are you going to practice?’ Without a second of hesitation, she said she wanted to do it. It’s not easy to personally say that to the director.”
She’s raking in plenty of cash
