It can be hard to keep track of the latest TikTok trends, with a new one seeming to pop up every week.
So, if you are often confused by the Grace Kelly challenge, don’t worry we are here to help.
Here’s everything you need to know.
What is the Grace Kelly challenge?
Do you remember that song Grace Kelly from 2007 by Mika? The one that goes really, really high?
Basically, Tik Tok users are posting their own renditions of the tune, performing the harmonies as best they can.
They are singing the low part, the middle part and the high part to the best of their abilities, with varying degrees of success.
This focuses on the song’s chorus: “I could be brown, I could be blue, I could be violet sky, I could be hurtful, I could be purple, I could be anything you like.”
And they then overlap their voice as they get higher in the spectrum, before finally getting to that brutal high note.
Who has done the challenge?
Well, thousands on TikTok, but most notably actors Ryan Reynolds, 44, and Will Ferrell, 54, with the latter hitting the high note.
The pair are currently filming the Christmas musical film Spirited.
In the caption, Ryan Reynolds said: “Late to the Grace Kelly TikTok trend but WAY early for our Christmas movie musical.”
It was actually started, however, by British pianist Nicole Reynolds who uses the platform to promote her work.
She now has more than half a million followers.
Who was Grace Kelly?
You really have to ask? She was Hollywood royalty in the 1950s but she became genuine royalty when she married Prince Rainier III in April 1956 and was titled Princess of Monaco.
She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in The Country Girl in 1954, and also starred in High Noon, High Society, and three Hitchcock thrillers: Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, and To Catch a Thief.
She is listed 13th among the American Film Institute’s 25 Greatest Female Stars of Classical Hollywood Cinema.
Her son Albert is the current head of the house of Grimaldi and the Prince of Monaco.Internet Explorer Channel Network
