Western Bulldogs star Bailey Smith has revealed the big-money proposal put to him amid his meteoric rise both on and off the footy field.

The 20-year-old has found himself amid the AFL’s highest profile stars and tagged with multiple labels.

With his flowing blonde mullet, the third-year player could easily fall into “cult hero” status, while his shirtless photos and ripped physique have seen him become an instant footy heart-throb.

He’s also on the cusp of becoming the most popular footballer on Instagram, having amassed 337,000 followers to trail only Dustin Martin by 1000 followers.

Smith had started the year with 130,000 followers.

It also helps he’s a more than promising where it counts – doing the job he’s paid to do on the footy field.

Speaking on the Common Chaos podcast, Smith revealed how he handles the attention and just how crazy the offers have been.

“I stopped reading them (my DMs) two weeks ago,” he said.

“I’m even getting these now, I don’t know how they got my number. Sends a screenshot of his bank account, $50,000 to sleep with this person.

“It doesn’t stop going. Then I’ve had the stock standard (offers).”

Smith also opened up on how a fake nude of him threatened to derail his grand final, which the Bulldogs lost to Melbourne in Perth in September.

“There was a fake nude of me that got shared around Australia,” he said.

“This was like the day of the grand final, the biggest game of my life, and I get showed this photo by the boys.

“They knew it was Photoshopped … it was weird. It got sent around to everyone while I was playing and then after the game I put this actual photo up.

“I completely left it there, I knew future Bailey can take care (of it). In the past – oh my God, that would send me off.”

After the Bulldogs' grand final loss to Melbourne, Smith has been spending his off-season in Queensland.

Taken at pick seven in the 2018 draft, he has played all 67 games since debut and kicked 34 goals.

Despite doing everything he can to hold his place in a side challenging for premierships, Smith said it has been far from smooth sailing, opening up on panic attacks and how he manages his mental health.

“Something that's been helping me recently when I'm having panic attacks, or just having a down day, is the sun will rise tomorrow,” Smith told hosts said.

“I started taking medication, that's something I didn't do for such a long time because I didn't want to be weak.

“I just had this weird thing in my head where I wanted to do it myself and it'd be so much more rewarding if I get through it and I don't need medication.

“I bit the bullet and understood and accepted that I wasn't right at the time, I wasn't well.

“It opened up so many doors for me, in terms of school, my education went through the roof and then football.

“I think I was 15, it's pretty young, but I started being really in tune with how I'm feeling and why am I feeling this way.

“I was lucky just because my mum was good at helping me do that, because at the time she was obviously a lot more emotionally intelligent, and still is.

“In terms of wanting to be successful, it just helps you with whatever you want to do.”
