Wei Lun terima insentif RM25,000

ISKANDAR PUTERI – Atlet paralimpik Chew Wei Lun, menerima insentif sebanyak RM25,000 daripada kerajaan negeri selepas kejayaannya menghadiahkan pingat perak dalam acara boccia pada temasya Sukan Paralimpik 2020.

Wei Lun, 26, menerima insentif tertinggi daripada kerajaan negeri yang berjumlah RM25,000 membabitkan RM15,000 terdiri daripada insentif pingat perak RM10,000 dan insentif penyertaan RM5,000.

Insentif berkenaan disampaikan Menteri Besar Johor, Datuk Hasni Mohammad, di Bangunan Dato Jaafar Muhammad Kota Iskandar di sini pada Selasa.

Hasni turut menyampaikan insentif RM5,000 setiap seorang kepada empat atlet Sukan Olimpik selain seorang atlet dan dua jurulatih Paralimpik kelahiran Johor, yang bertanding di Tokyo.

Atlet berkenaan terdiri daripada atlet berbasikal, Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom, atlet pelayaran, Nur Aisyah Jamil, atlet golf, Kelly Tan Guat Chen dan atlet memanah, Syaqiera Mashayikh.

Turut menerima insentif RM5,000 itu adalah Siti Noor Iasah Mohamad Ariffin (Sukan Olahraga T20), Sallehudin Mohd Noh (Jurulatih Para Basikal) dan Muhammad Ashaari Zainal Abidin (Jurulatih Para Tennis).

Dalam pada itu, Hasni menyampaikan penghargaan kepada atlet serta jurulatih kelahiran Johor yang berjaya meraih kejayaan dan mewakili negara ke Olimpik dan Paralimpik Tokyo.

“Kejayaan atlet kelahiran Johor memberi semangat kepada rakyat di negeri ini untuk terus berusaha dalam bidang sukan. Kerajaan negeri juga kini sedang mempertingkatkan penyediaan fasiliti dan kemudahan sukan bertaraf dunia di Johor.

“Antara kemudahan sukan yang ada di Johor seperti velodrom bertaraf antarabangsa serta kemudahan sukan yang dibina untuk penganjuran Sukma 2020 yang masih dalam penangguhan akibat Covid-19,” katanya.
