Did you know that lumpia cakes exist? If the idea of ulam-served-like-cake excites you and you want to have it for your handaan, you have another option that includes crispy and juicy bagnet. XO46 Heritage Bistro has three different kinds of “Bagnet Cakes:” Bringhe Bagnet Cake, Kare-Kare Bagnet Cake, and the Pinakbet Bagnet Cake.
XO46’s Heritage Bistro’s Bringhe Bagnet Cake (P2,450/8-inch cake) is loaded with a kilo of XO46’s 72-hour Bagnet placed on top of a layer of bringhe, a Kapampangan paella, while the Kare-Kare Bagnet Cake (P2,450/8-inch cake) also uses the 72-hour Bagnet and is combined with the restaurant’s Kare-Kare Classico, which uses a kare-kare sauce made from scratch and then topped with blanched leafy vegetables.
The Pinakbet Bagnet Cake (P2,450/8-inch cake) is described as the “upgraded version” of the restaurant’s Pinakbet Bagnet dish which has squash, okra, eggplant, ampalaya, and string beans that are fermented in shrimp paste, with the crispy bagnet as the main meat.
