Waterfront Homes by the Wetlands

Dubbed nature sanctuary and smart city, Gamuda Cove is mindfully master-planned with Gamuda Land’s key development principles. One aspect of its town-making principles is “listening to what the land has to tell us”.

“Our focus is to build in harmony with nature so that we can preserve and restore what was there before us for generations to come,” said Brandon Yong, General Manager of Gamuda Cove.

Located in the southern district of the 1,530 acres Gamuda Cove, Wetlands Estates is planned as the luxury precinct with a 90-acre Forest Park as its backyard. Residents here will have direct access to over 1,000 acres of Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands as well as Forest Park, where they can immerse in lush wetlands environment with shaded walking and cycling pathways, cascading waterways, an urban farm, a wildflower trail, an arboretum and more.

Here, native trees are grown and preserved to encourage the growth of biodiversity.

Living sustainably within the wetlands

The Waterlily is the first introduction to Wetlands Estates, to be built on 16 acres of carefully planned landscape. Meandering roads, cascading canals and landscape edges along the streetscape induce a sense of resort living, while creating a cooling effect for the community.

“When you come home, through the entrance into the southern precinct, you will be greeted with rows of trees leading to your home. Imagine birds chirping in the background and butterflies pollinating your garden, that is the environment we are trying to create here,” Yong said.

The Waterlily is thoughtfully landscaped with not only native trees but also herb gardens and a fruit tree farm where the community can create lasting friendship.

Featuring an exclusive 57 units of bungalows, each of the units is sustainably designed with compliance to the Green Building Index (GBI) certification with features such as sustainable façade design, energy and water efficient technology, and a comfortable indoor environment.

One of the features is the usage of low volatile organic compounds (VOC) that are not harmful to the environment and humans. Furthermore, the homes are designed with high-performance glass to reduce heat gain through the building envelope for energy efficiency.

To encourage greener modes of transportation and in line with Gamuda Land’s aspiration to reduce its carbon footprint, electrical vehicle charging points will be made available at all The Waterlily units. Solar garden lighting will also be used throughout to encourage energy-efficient lifestyle. The Waterlily is also planned to be near amenities, with walkable and bikeable pathways reducing the need for private transportation in the future.

“Luxury living here is elevated with an exclusive Wetlands Estates Clubhouse for residents to relax, unwind, and appreciate the finer aspects of life and leisure. “Keeping to the same theme and concept, it is only natural that we introduce biophilic designs for The Waterlily,” Yong added.

Derived from the word “biophilia” – a love of nature – biophilic design connects homeowners to nature, focusing on abundance of natural light, good ventilation, open spaces and seamless connection to the natural outdoors.

Homes here are attentively laid out in small clusters where the units are designed with private greens surrounding them to give a sense of privacy to residents. As such each unit will have its own garden view and would not be facing other units.

The Waterlily homes also feature large windows and door openings which bring in an abundant of natural light while promoting good cross ventilation. “With good planning and design for our developments, Gamuda Cove has recently been awarded the 5-diamond recognition in Low Carbon City Framework (LCCF) design from the Environment and Water Ministry in collaboration with Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Centre (MGTC),” Yong happily shared.

This would see Gamuda Cove taking various measures from urban planning, urban transport, energy, buildings, water and others in its carbon reduction strategies with a target to achieve 45% overall reduction in carbon emission.

This is in line with Pillar 1 (Sustainable Planning and Design) and Pillar 3 (Environmental and biodiversity conservation) of the Gamuda Green Plan 2025, a comprehensive framework charting tangible targets driven on environmental, social and governance (ESG) dimensions.
