Fans of Westlife may long to one day be serenaded in the crowd by the band but one superfan had all her wildest dreams imagined after she was treated to a private concert at her home.
Dubliner Brianna O’Connell was treated to a birthday celebration she will likely never forget after the Irish pop group performed at her Donabate home for her and her family and her friends.
Back in 2020, the Starlight singers revealed that they wanted to give one fan the once-in-a-lifetime prize in support of RTÉ Does Comic Relief. After Brianna’s aunt Sandra O’Connell won the prize, she gifted it to her as her 21st birthday party had been cancelled due to Covid.
Ahead of their very special performance, the supergroup wrote on Instagram, ‘Nearly two years ago to the day, we teamed up with RTÉ for #RTEComicRelief to offer one lucky winner a private Westlife performance and now the day is finally here!’.

‘Happy (belated) 21st Birthday Brianna! After such a long wait, we can’t wait to celebrate together tonight. We couldn’t ask for a better warm up for our Aviva Stadium shows and all for such an important cause!’.
The excitement began on a high note as the band arrived on her doorstep to sing her happy birthday and present her with flowers.
The Donabate native, who has been an avid fan of the pop group since she was young and has gone to every gig in Dublin and Belfast that she could over the years, appeared both shocked and delighted as she opened the door to them.
After the surprise had subsided, she proceeded to steal a cheeky hug from the chart toppers.
While we can only imagine the excitement hit fever pitch at this stage for the prizewinner, her friends, who were lucky enough to get a spot in the crowd for the intimate show, were equally beside themselves.
Another video captured the moment the foursome took to stage and they were met with rapturous applause.
Cutaway clips showed the reactions of Brianna’s friends in the crowd as they sang (and danced along) as Westlife performed their hit song Starlight.
Later, Brianna joined them on stage for another round of happy birthday.
This comes as Westlife are set to light up the Aviva Stadium in Dublin as part of their Wild Dreams tour on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 July.
Nicky Byrne recently lifted the lid on the setlist for the mega shows telling EVOKE that there are ten songs they would ‘never leave out’.
