‘I woke up so tired’- Bafana star

Bafana Bafana are planing for the final 16 round. Was it a heavy toil on the players as it looked on television?

Teboho Mokoena is suggesting it was worse.

AFCON 2023: BAFANA BAFANA QUALIFY FOR THE FINAL 16

Group E battles ended on Wednesday night with Bafana sitting second.

Thanks to a 4-0 win over Namibia and 0-0 draw with Tunisia.

Accroding to Mokoena, the battle was a deep grind.

“Today, even when I woke up in the morning, I woke up so tired, but we had to fight for this game so that we can go to the next round,” said Mokoena via SABC.

“So I think everyone, from the bench and those who started the game, we put in a shift and I think we deserve to be where we are now,” the Mamelodi Sundowns star added.

The result has now set up Bafana with group F winners of Group F in the final 16 next week.

The fixture is set for Tuesday, 30 January, at 22:00. The venue will be the Stade de San Pédro.

The last meeting between Bafana Bafana and the Atlas Lions was in qualifiers of the same tournament last year.
