We may have just witnessed the defensive play of the year during the Oklahoma-Nebraska game on Saturday.
The Huskers were in Oklahoma territory early in the fourth quarter facing a fourth and 18. Needing a big play, quarterback Adrian Martinez heaved the ball near the end-zone.
Several Oklahoma defenders were in position to make a play on the ball. That’s when Sooners defensive back D.J. Graham made the play of the year by leaping and picking off the pass with one hand.
This might be one of the best defensive plays we’ve ever seen.

Talk about a highlight play.
As pointed out by some, he cost his team better field position. But who cares? Those kind of plays flip the momentum in a hurry.
It appears Oklahoma will indeed escape with a win over Nebraska this afternoon. The Huskers made too many costly errors and the Sooners took advantage.
The real question moving forward is whether or not Oklahoma’s a College Football Playoff team. The Sooners haven’t looked impressive during the first few weeks of the season. It’s similar to what we saw from Lincoln Riley’s team last season. The Sooners, of course, finished the season looking like one of the best teams in the nation but couldn’t sneak into the CFP.
It’s a long season. Plenty can change by year’s end. But Oklahoma has plenty to clean up as it moves on to Big 12 play next weekend.Internet Explorer Channel Network
