Junior Khanye names Bafana players who should move to Europe

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has named two Bafana Bafana stars who deserve a move to Europe.

Bafana Bafana finished third place at the 2023 African Cup of Nations(Afcon) and had to overcome the likes of Tunisia, Morocco and Cape Verde to reach the last four.

Khanye, who has been a Bafana critic, gave praise to the national team after the Nigeria game which South Africa lost 4-2 on penalties.

“Bafana Bafana played one of the best games in the tournanment, it was difficult for Bafana to come back if they playing with the giants but big up to them,” Khanye said on iDiskiTV.

Junior Khanye praise Bafana duo of Williams and Mokoena

“To be patient and build up, I knew them of pumping up the ball , they were fearless. So hard luck to them.”

Khanye said it might be difficult for Mamelodi Sundowns to keep hold of Williams and Mokoena after the Afcon.

Mokoena is likely to leave Downs soon with top European teams eyeing the Bafana midfielder.

“Hard luck to Ronwen Williams, he deserves to go to Europe. Him and Mokoena, I don’t know how Sundowns will keep them,” Khanye added.

Williams, who is 32, might finally get his chance to move to Europe.

He kept five clean sheets in the Afcon and conceded just three goals.
