Warga India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal dibenar masuk semula negara

© Provided by Free Malaysia Today Petugas kesihatan memasangkan gelang kuarantin kepada penumpang pesawat antarabangsa sejurus tiba di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA).

PETALING JAYA: Kerajaan membenarkan kemasukan semula pengembara dari lima negara iaitu India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan dan Bangladesh.

Pengumuman penamatan sekatan tambahan ke atas kemasukan warganegara dari negara-negara Asia Selatan itu terkandung dalam surat Ketua Pengarah Imigresen Malaysia bertarikh 20 Sept 2021.

Menurut surat yang dilihat FMT itu, keputusan penamatan berkenaan ditetapkan dalam Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Khas Pengurusan Pandemik pada 8 Sept lalu yang dipengerusikan Perdana Menteri.

Katanya, Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia (JIM) menamatkan sekatan tambahan yang dikenakan ke atas negara terbabit berkuat kuasa serta-merta.

Bagaimanapun, Ketua Pengarah JIM, Khairul Dzaimee Daud berkata, kemasukan warganegara terbabit hendaklah dibuat secara teliti dengan mensasarkan kategori Penduduk Tetap Malaysia, pemegang pas jangka panjang, pelawat perniagaan dan pelabur.

“Pelawat asing yang dibenarkan masuk hendaklah mematuhi syarat keperluan vaksin lengkap, prosedur ujian saringan ketika ketibaan dan kuarantin di Malaysia seperti ditetapkan Kementerian Kesihatan (KKM) bagi membendung penularan varian baharu Covid-19 dalam negara,” katanya.

Pada 5 Mei lalu, media melaporkan warganegara Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal dan Pakistan dilarang memasuki negara ini, tambahan kepada sekatan penerbangan dari dan ke India yang diumumkan 26 April lalu.

Bekas Menteri Kanan (Keselamatan), Ismail Sabri Yaakob ketika itu berkata, larangan terbabit terpakai kepada semua kategori pengembara, termasuk yang memiliki pas lawatan sosial jangka panjang dan pelawat perniagaan.

Pada masa yang sama, Sabah juga melaksanakan sekatan serta-merta terhadap pengembara dari benua India, susulan penularan varian India Covid-19 di negara terbabit.

Kadar jangkitan mingguan di negara jiran India ketika itu menyaksikan lonjakan kes secara drastik.

Jangkitan mingguan di Nepal meningkat 14 kali ganda berbanding jumlah kes yang dicatatkan pada awal April, begitu juga dengan kes di Sri Lanka dan Pakistan.
