Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Shane Bowen and defensive backs coach and defensive pass-game coordinator and cornerbacks coach Chris Harris are both receiving interest for vacant defensive coordinator jobs.

According to ESPN’s Turron Davenport, Bowen will get a look from the New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars for their respective openings. Per FOX Sports’ Ben Arthur, Harris will interview for the Jags job.

The Titans have the opportunity to block Bowen interviewing for other DC jobs if they so choose, but clearly they are opting against doing that, which comes as no surprise because Bowen is not expected back after the Titans parted with Vrabel.

The Titans don’t have such an option with Harris, as his interview is for a job that is a step up from his current role.

Bowen became Tennessee’s defensive coordinator in 2021 after previously serving as the outside linebacker’s coach. His tenure in Nashville could be best described as up and down.

Harris took his role with Tennessee in 2023. Unfortunately, his secondary didn’t have much success, although he did oversee Roger McCreary’s successful transition to the slot.

The Giants are in the market for a new defensive coordinator after parting ways with Wink Martindale. The Jags job came open after Jacksonville relieved Mike Caldwell of his duties.
