Melaka food peddler claims trial to 10 charges of unnatural sex, molest of teen boys

MELAKA: A food peddler claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to 10 charges for allegedly performing unnatural sex acts and molesting three teen boys.

The plea of the accused Yusri Nadin, 57, was recorded before Judge Azaraorni Abd Rahman on Monday (Feb 19).

Based on the charge sheets, the accused had allegedly committed an unnatural sex act on a boy, who was 13-year-old at the material time, by having oral sex with him.

The charge was framed under Section 377C of the Penal Code where the accused can face imprisonment of up to 30 years and whipping if found guilty.

The accused also faced another six charges for physical sexual assault by allegedly caressing the private parts of three boys, all 13 years of age, under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

If convicted under the Section, the accused could be jailed for up to 20 years and whipping.

He was also charged with forcing one of the victims to perform oral sex on another teen boy which is an offence under Section 14 (b) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and could be jailed up to 20 years and caned upon conviction.

The accused was also charged with possessing pornographic videos of children performing sexual acts stored in three of his mobile phones.

The charge was framed under Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or a fine not exceeding RM10,000 or both, upon conviction.

All the offences were allegedly committed at an oil palm estate, rubber plantation and a shopping centre at Simpang Bekoh, Asahan in the Jasin district between Aug 23, 2023 and this February.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Rashidah Baharom prosecuted while the accused was represented by lawyer Ishak Mohd Kari.

The court granted a bail of RM52,000 for all the charges and impounded the international passport of the accused.

The accused was also ordered to report to the nearest police station monthly while the next mention date was fixed on March 28.
