Activity in the trade and services industry has picked up gradually in recent months and now operates at 89% of capacity compared with before the pandemic.
Trade has also picked up sharply, while the tourism (37%) and culture and experience (56%) sectors are still far below their full capacity.
New jobs and economic growth
Virke, the trade and services industry’s main organization, believes that growth in the economy forms the basis for new jobs. It sees the circular economy as the generator of new value.
“Circular economy… will help solve the climate crisis, at the same time as we create more jobs and service solutions that we can export. We also need a policy that contributes (to it),” CEO Ivar Horneland Kristensen in Virke noted.
