After almost three months of inaction, Rhenz Abando is back on the hardcourt following his recovery from the multiple injuries he sustained late last year during Anyang Jung Kwan Jang’s away game against Goyang Sono in the KBL.

The Filipino import finally saw action for Anyang on Sunday against, incidentally, the same Goyang team as the defending champions notched a 92-87 victory to move up to 14-31 in the team standings.

The 6-foot-2 Abando finished with 17 points in his return alongside four rebounds, three assists, four steals, and one block to help Anyang. But the high-flying gunner stressed he has yet to return to 100-percent.

“It is currently at 85-90 percent. It’s hard to talk about pain right now – there is pain when leaning over. I hope that after sleeping for a day, the pain will go away and I can play in the EASL,” Abando said.

Abando, though, is set to join Anyang in their upcoming campaign in the East Asia Super League (EASL) Final Four set to kick off in Cebu, Philippines from March 8 to 10. Anyang faces Korean rival Seoul SK Knights in the semifinals on March 8 at 5 p.m. followed by the clash of Chiba Jets and New Taipei Kings at 8 p.m.
