Vikings Are Reportedly Fielding Calls For Pro Bowler On Wednesday
The Minnesota Vikings are reportedly fielding calls regarding to availability of three-time Pro-Bowl pass rusher Danielle Hunter, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
Coming off two major injury issues that saw him miss a year and a half in 2020 and 2021, Hunter returned and posted an impressive Pro-Bowl campaign for the Vikings in 2022. The 28-year-old pass rusher notched 10.5 sacks through 17 games, marking the fourth double-digit sack year of his career.
Hunter is entering the final season of his existing contract with Minnesota and may not be in the team’s longterm plans for the future. He’s set to earn $4.9 million in base salary with a $13.12 million cap hit this coming season.
With that in mind, he could be a solid trade piece as the organization looks toward its next chapter.
Just last month, the Vikings traded star pass rusher Za’Darius Smith to the Browns. Hunter could be the next veteran on the chopping block.
