De FIA heeft bevestigd dat het een verzoek heeft ontvangen om Andrea Kimi Antonelli een superlicentie te geven, hoewel hij pas eind augustus achttien wordt. Red Bull Racing heeft aangekondigd dat ontwerper Adrian Newey vertrekt. Hij wordt in verband gebracht met teams als Ferrari en Aston Martin, maar geeft in Miami aan momenteel vooral van vrije tijd te willen genieten.
