Lava spews from Iceland volcano
Vision has been released of the moment two hikers were rescued by emergency services after spending the night stranded in Victoria’s remote Alpine Region over the weekend.
The two experienced hikers first contacted authorities for assistance after misjudging the difficult terrain at Mount Bogong on Saturday.
Search and Rescue Squad officers spoke with the men that night before it was decided a helicopter would assist in the rescue efforts in the morning.
The 63-year-old and 71-year-old men were winched to safety by the Police Air Wing about 9.30am yesterday.
Both men were checked over by paramedics but did not require treatment.
