Many were looking forward to what would likely be an awkward, potentially heated interaction between Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and the Big Ten commissioner during the trophy presentation after the conference championship game.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get it.
Harbaugh refused to go on stage while the Big Ten commissioner was handing out the conference championship game trophy.
Instead, Harbaugh opted to let an injured Michigan player accept the trophy, completely avoiding the Big Ten commissioner.
Injured Michigan Wolverines lineman Zak Zinter accepted the trophy for the program.
Harbaugh avoided interacting with Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti on stage.
Michigan improved to 13-0 on the season, winning the Big Ten Championship Game over Iowa, to wrap up a pretty incredible 2023.
The Wolverines will now await their College Football Playoff status heading into the selection show on Sunday.
The 2023-24 College Football Playoff field will be unveiled on ESPN on Sunday.News Related
