Victorian woman's 'weird vibe' before winning $4.8 million lottery prize

A Victorian woman will pocket $20,000 a month for the next two decades after winning last night’s Set for Life draw.

The woman, who lives near Frankston, said she “felt sick” when she got the call notifying her of the mammoth $4.8 million prize.

“I’m thanking my lucky stars for getting out of the house and buying that ticket; look what’s happened,” she said.

The long-time player said she was alerted of the possibility of winning by her husband.

“My husband gave me a call because he heard someone had won division one in Set for Life and he knows I enjoy playing the game,” she told The Lott.

“He said, ‘Someone in Victoria has won Set for Life!’ and I immediately thought it was me. I said to him, ‘It’s me! It’s got to be me!’.

“As soon as I got off the phone with him, I grabbed the ticket off the fridge to check it. I called him back immediately and I said to him, ‘You need to be calm. I won Set for Life!’.

“I was in tears, shaking. My dog was concerned and kept coming up to me to see if I was okay.”

The woman said she only purchased the ticket after feeling a “weird vibe” that she could win.

“I can’t describe it. I said to myself, ‘Don’t be pathetic, get out of the house!’.

“I’m thanking my lucky stars for getting out of the house and buying that ticket; look what’s happened!” she said.

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 3189 last night were 31, 36, 37, 38, 18, 10 and 33, while the supplementary numbers were 20 and 4.
