MANILA, Philippines: Filipina artistic gymnast Emma Malabuyo took home the silver medal at the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Floor Exercise Finals during the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Apparatus World Cup in Cairo, Egypt on Sunday.
The Filipino-American Malabuyo finished with a score of 12.666 points, enough for finishing second behind Okamura Mana of Japan, who won the gold with 13.066 points.
Spain’s Laura Casabuena finished in bronze medal position, with 12.633 points.
On her Instagram stories on Monday, Malabuyo was heading to Cottbus, Germany to take part in another FIG Apparatus World Cup series, which starts on February 23.
Malabuyo could become the third Filipino to join fellow gymnasts Carlos Yulo and Aleah Finnegan to the upcoming Olympics this year in Paris, France.
