Mark Wright has faced a blow as his new BBC travel show has been axed.
A Wright Family Holiday, which originally aired last summer, has reportedly not been renewed for a second season.
The six-part series featured the former Towie star, his footballer brother Josh and dad Mark Snr as they travelled from Scotland to Cornwall.
A TV insider told The Sun that the series was ‘always going to be a suck-it-and-see job’ however it ‘wasn’t meant to be’.
‘If it went down well with audiences and got healthy viewing figures, the BBC would have been tempted to maybe explore another series,’ the insider revealed.

The bad news about the future of the series comes just days after Mark headed out to the French Alps with Michelle, 36, for a wintry getaway for his birthday
‘The Wrights would have been up for it, but it wasn’t to be.’
The source added that a consolation for the Essex family is that BBC is ‘still keen to work with them’ so another show could be on the cards.
One of the most memorable moments of the series was when Mark Snr passed out during a 130ft bungee jump.
Mark was left repeatedly shouting ‘how do ya feel?’ while his unresponsive father, 65, dangled upside down in air.
The career blow comes amid Mark’s wife Michelle’s huge success with her Netflix series Fool Me Once.
Fool Me Once amassed 61million views globally in the first two weeks of its New Year’s Day release, reaching the Top 10 in 91 countries worldwide.
Netflix are reportedly keen to tie Michelle down to an exclusive deal, but Hollywood film bosses are also interested in enquiring her services for blockbuster movies.
A source told MailOnline: ‘The response to Fool Me Once has been overwhelming.

In a bid to spend some quality time together, Mark, his brother Josh, 33, and their dad Mark, Sr, set out on a road trip across Britain inclusive of a few white-knuckle activities

‘The phone calls and offers have been coming in from Hollywood film executives, it’s different to anything Michelle has experienced before.
‘Netflix is a global platform and the show has given her the opportunity to shine.
‘Her career has already been a success but now her star is rising, everyone can feel that this is the beginning of something special.
‘Michelle feels lucky that she’s always played likeable characters but now she’s hoping to take it up a notch by landing a film role.
‘She aspires to play a dark character in a hard-hitting thriller, which will be a challenge that she’s completely ready for.’
Television presenter Mark and his actress wife Michelle, 36, flew their friends and family out to the French Alps for a wintry getaway, with Michelle wishing him a happy birthday on Instagram
Last week Mark headed out to the French Alps with Michelle, 36, for a wintry getaway for his birthday.
Michelle and Mark flew their friends and family out for the trip,
The couple and Mark’s sisters – former The Only Way Is Essex star Jess Wright, 38, and influencer Natalya Wright, 23 – and their loved ones stayed at the Village Montana resort in the Val Thorens area of the French Alps.
Val Thorens is known for being the highest in Europe with a total of 372 miles of slopes to enjoy, with a four-bedroom chalet at their hotel costing £4,000 for a two night break.
Heart FM presenter Mark had the choice of dining on veal confit, milk-fed lamb and salmon gravlax with lemon caviar among many other things during his break.
And the clan could utilise the after-ski massage, which would have set them back £240 per person.

‘What a fab week celebrating it by doing what you love to do the most… having no chill, racing down the slopes & thrashing everyone.’
