Valenzuela deploys mobile showers, toilets
(UPDATE) AMID the sweltering heat, the Valenzuela City government has deployed two mobile showers and toilets that residents can use free of charge, Mayor Weslie Gatchalian said on Sunday.
He said that the two mobile units costing P12.7 million, have eight shower enclosures and eight toilets, hand-wash basins and folding clothes racks.

“We thought this would be a great idea as most of us, especially here in Valenzuela, are experiencing excessive heat and water shortage in some areas,” Gatchalian told The Manila Times via Viber.
The mayor said the mobile showers and toilets were also designed for deployment in evacuation centers in time of disasters.
“These mobile showers will roam around our community. It’s a free shower, a free toilet because we have communities that have power interruptions and they can’t take a shower because there’s no electricity in their house,” Gatchalian said.
Meanwhile, the city government turned over four motorcycles to Barangay Parada.
The motorcycles will be used by the village police to keep communities safe.
