US House passes resolution asking Mike Pence to remove Donald Trump

A resolution urging US Vice President Mike Pence to start the 25th Amendment process of removing President Donald Trump from office has been passed by the US House of Representatives.

US House of Representatives, which has initiated the process to impeach Donald Trump over the unprecedented Capitol Hill attack, on Wednesday passed a resolution urging Vice President Mike Pence to invoke 25th Amendment to remove the president from office.

The resolution, which calls upon Pence to mobilize the Cabinet to activate the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office, was voted by 223 to 205 votes.

House Democrats plan to vote Wednesday to impeach President Donald Trump, one week after rioters incited by Trump overran Capitol police and breached some of the most secure areas of the US Capitol.
