During May 2024, various web series like Heeramandi, The Broken News season two, and Bridgerton season three are set to premiere on multiple OTT platforms. Enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the release of these shows.
1. HEERAMANDI: THE DIAMOND BAZAAR
Sanjay Leela Bhansali steps into the realm of web series with Heeramandi, set amidst the backdrop of the Indian freedom movement in the 1940s. This promising project vows to unfold an epic narrative of love, power, revenge, and liberation.
Featuring an ensemble cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Adhyayan Suman, Sharmin Segal, and Taha Shah Badussha, Heeramandi is slated for release on Netflix on May 1.
2. THE BROKEN NEWS SEASON 2
Directed by Vinay Waikul and penned by Sambit Mishra, The Broken News returns with its thrilling narrative set in the realm of news reporting.
The upcoming season sees Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shriya Pilgaonkar reprising their roles as Ameena Qureshi, Dipankar Sanyal, and Radha Bhargava, respectively. Streaming on ZEE5 from May 3, the series delves deeper into the complexities of the news world.
3. BRIDGERTON SEASON 3
Embarking on the journey from friendship to love, Bridgerton Season 3 follows the tale of Penelope and Colin. Portrayed by Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, they take centre stage this season, exploring an unconventional path to find Penelope a suitable match.
Based on Julia Quinn’s Romancing Mister Bridgerton, the season intricately navigates themes of friendship, love, and the choices shaping destinies. Netflix has announced the premiere of part one on May 13, followed by part two on June 13.
4. DARK MATTER
Launching as a nine-episode sci-fi thriller, Dark Matter features a stellar cast including Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Oakes Fegley.
Making its global debut on Apple TV+ on May 8, the series kicks off with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases every Wednesday until June 26.
